When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What information do we collect?

Our Partners and we ask our users for personal information that our partners and we may use to assist emergency personnel with identification as well as the best possible care in case of an emergency.

This includes but is not limited to: name, last name, ID number, recent photo, medical information, vehicle details and emergency contacts.

How we store and protect your personal information?

Our Partners and we make use of all industry standard security measures to protect your personal information. These measures include data encryption, protected access to client personal information from within our facilities, encrypted (SSL) transfer of sensitive data entry forms. All supplied payment information is transmitted via our servers. Our data centres (where our physical servers are located) are SSAE16 compliant and conform to all US, UK and EU data privacy and protection requirements and standards.

Do we disclose information to outside parties?

Our partners and we do not sell or trade your personal information to outside parties; however, in the event of an emergency our partners and we will share the required information, if the information as it relates to the emergency response required. We may also release your information if it is required to do so by law.

Our Partners and we use your live location data to allow emergency response teams to locate the user as quickly and efficiently as possible. We only track our users location if/when the user has activated a “Panic”, “Assist” or “Medical” response. The application user can also choose to share their location with other application users; we however do not make use or have access to that location data.
